At the beginning of the month I was wined and dined in an evening soiree with none other than The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Gloucester himself, Cllr Steve Morgan. It was his charity ball and I had the honour of being invited. And turn down a three-course dinner (complete with raffle), I do not.

The chosen venue was the Mercure Bowden Hall Hotel in Upton St Leonards and it was a classy affair, I will say that. A jolly old time was had by all, we even had a boogie to the songs the band boomed out.

Alongside The Mayor of Gloucester was The Mayoress, Mrs Sally Morgan. The couple were joined by The Sheriff and Deputy Mayor of Gloucester, Cllr Paul Toleman, and The Sheriff’s Lady, Mrs Patsy Toleman. A rather merry time was had by all, with the beneficiary charities this year being Footsteps and Teckels.
