I’m very pleased to announce (in my world record breaking voice!) that after almost 30 years on the job I am now a Chartered Freeman of Gloucester.

I am completely shocked and overwhelmed at becoming a Chartered Freeman of Gloucester, but I think it’s a fantastic tribute to my years of service to this wonderful city I call home.

I was born in the Old Infirmary on Southgate Street. To use an old saying, I am ‘Gloucester born and bred, strong in the arm and thick in the head!’ We have much to be proud of in Gloucester, 3,000 years of heritage for a start. Gloucester is on the up and I am glad to be part and parcel of all that Gloucester has to offer. Just watch this space to see what delights Gloucester has to offer this year.
