I recently had the pleasure of acting as Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies at a dinner at King’s College in Cambridge. It was quite the star studded night, as the host was Special Envoy to the Imperial Crown Council of Ethiopia, Philip Bonn, while the Guest Speaker was HRH Princess Katrina of Serbia and Croatia.

I was in my element and managed to even catch a word or two with Philip himself. It turns out his grandfather looked after Haile Selassie when he was in exile and the title passes down in perpetuity. I was there in my official capacity as Master of Ceremonies all evening, while Philip arranged for me to stay in one of the masters’ rooms at Peter College.

A truly enjoyable night was had by all and I cannot wait to see what adventures are waiting for me in the City of London this year. Remember, if you need a Town Crier or Master of Ceremonies at your event, drop me a line to alanmyatt@blueyonder.co.uk
