Today marks the 373rd anniversary of the lifting of the Great Siege of Gloucester. A turning point in the English Civil War, this significant siege lasted nearly four weeks, and I always like to celebrate this event every year. This year, the anniversary has fallen on Gloucester Day, so celebrations across the city will be in full swing.

While Gloucester Day will look a little different for 2020, there’s still numerous things to come and explore in our fair city. If, like me, you’d like to commemorate the iconic lifting of the siege, Gloucester Life Museum will be open between 11am and 4pm today to tell the full story.
