I attended a lovely St. George’s Day service at Gloucester Cathedral on the 23rd. Accompanied by the criers of Bristol, Nailsworth and Cheltenham, I was called upon to act as Toastmaster afterwards at a reception in the Chapter House. The Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire, Dame Janet Trotter, was among the many VIPs present. Here’s a great photo, supplied by kind permission of The Citizen / This is Gloucestershire.
Regrettably I had been due to appear as Henry VIII in Southampton the other day but had to cancel as I was ill. This is only the second time in 25 years that I’ve had to do that and I really hope I won’t have to do it again.
