Roll up, roll up, for the ‘mini marathon’ is here! Yes, while athletes, the great British public and even a gorilla geared up to run the London Marathon in April, I was holding the prestigious ‘mini marathon’ of Tredworth Road.

This 4.6 mile course is the 69th annual road race designed to inspire the youngsters in our city. It’s great to see this Easter Monday tradition still going strong, with youngsters from all backgrounds turning out to run, jog and walk this infamous course.

The event has been running since 1948 and we shall continue with this tradition going forwards. As organiser of the race I, of course, made sure there were plenty of Easter eggs handed out to deserving competitors! The Mayor of Gloucester, Neil Hampson, helped to hand out the eggcellent prizes, and we also ran a traditional Easter bonnet competition too.
