You may remember I stated mere months ago, on this very blog, that I would be attending the annual Russian Summer Ball this year. Well, I did, and now I can give you all the behind the scenes gossip from my night with royalty!

The ball itself was held on Carlton House Terrace, right on The Mall in London. I could see Buckingham Palace from where I was! It was a jolly hot night – haven’t we been lucky with the glorious summer we’ve had this year – and HH Princess Olga of Russia was the VIP guest.

This rather high society event was in aid of the Russian Orthodox Lesna Monastery in Normandy, France. Proceeds were also attributed for a memorial to be erected in London to commemorate the centenary of the martyrdom of Russian Imperial Martyrs.

It was great to be back in the City of London, not just for such a magnificent event, but to visit Covent Garden (one of my favourite stomping grounds) and to catch a glimpse of Buckingham Palace and Big Ben too.
