I was proud to lead many hundreds of people from Gloucester’s LGBT community in the Gloucestershire Pride 2014 parade, organised to celebrate 50 years of progress.

We started in the city centre on the steps of Westgate Street’s Shire Hall and ended up in the Docks, with lots of local organisations taking part including GAY-GLOS, Gloucester Gay Outdoor Club, Victim Support and the Gloucestershire Gay and Lesbian Community.

Members brought along a series of banners representing each decade from the 1960s and highlighting key events from each decade including the decriminalisation of homosexual acts (1967) and the legalisation of Gay Marriage (2014).

The celebration ended with a Pride in the Park event at Gloucester Park featuring live music and a gay wedding fair with around 30 exhibition stands.
