I’m a big lover of all things retro, it takes me right back to my youth! So I’m always excited when the Retro Festival rolls around, and this year was no different. I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you but, for a single day, our four main streets turn back time and each take on a different era.

Starting with the war years of the 1940s, right up to the prawn cocktail and black forest gateau decade – the 1970s.

This year I really was kept on my toes! The cast of the BBC drama ‘Allo ‘Allo dropped in especially for the festival and it was the job of your truly to keep them all in line. If there’s one thing I’m good at it’s keeping groups of people together – it’s all down to my award-winning voice, you see!

The day started off really well, everyone involved had a ‘good moaning’, and the afternoon seemed to fly away too. Clum Castle, a beautifully preserved steam locomotive, even made an appearance, alongside a variety of vintage buses, tanks and even a retro Aston Martin! I’m already looking forward to doing it all again next year!
