I am honoured to announce that I have been awarded the Victory of Adwa centenary medal. You may remember I recently became a member of the Imperial Household, and this latest accolade has really bowled me over!

The Victory of Adwa centenary medal is given to diplomats and members of the Imperial Household. The medal was authorised by the Crown Council to commemorate the Battle of Adwa in 1896 and the first medals were awarded to prominent Ethiopians in 1996. By 1998, more than 120 world leaders and dignitaries had received the medal, and I’m thrilled to be able to add my name to this list.

I really enjoy performing town crying duties for the Imperial Crown Council of Ethiopia. Its Special Envoy, Philip Bonn, is a most fascinating man and he has welcomed me with open arms.
