Returning from its online format in 2020, Gloucester History festival is back with a bang in 2021! This year’s theme is frontiers and pioneers, and the festival is running from 4th-19th September.

You can expect the celebration of important battles, historical advancements and new discoveries – from Anglo-Saxon times right up to modern day. The festival is part of Gloucester’s Heritage Open Days, providing a rare insight into some of the city’s oldest buildings, from St Michael’s Tower to the SULA Lightship.

Gloucester Day on the 5th September also falls into the festival, where there’ll be entertainment for all the family. You can find more about the History Festival here, including the full line up of events.
