Can you believe it? Not only that but I’ve been involved with the Court Leet of Barton St Mary for over 40 years. The numbers just keep on getting bigger!
I’m also the proud founder of Gloucester Day – setting up the modern-day version 15 years ago. Gloucester Day is an annual event that celebrates the City of Gloucester’s history and culture although its origins date back to the lifting of the Siege of Gloucester in 1643 when the city held out against Royalist forces during the First English Civil War.
The end of the siege was celebrated annually in the city for centuries afterwards but the tradition died out in the nineteenth century.
This year’s event was brilliant with parades, band, stalls and a Mock Mayor-making ceremony.
