One of my favourite events in the calendar is the amazing Covent Garden Rent Ceremony.

Crowds gathered as we paid our peppercorn rent of five posies of flowers and five rosy red apples to some of the oldest buildings in the area. We then marched around Covent Garden to some delightful tunes played by the famous brass band.

This month marked my 13th year as City of London Town Crier at the event, having taken over from Peter Moore in 2009.
