It’s that time of year again, yes roll up, roll up, for the annual Covent Garden Rent Ceremony is almost upon us. This year’s event will take place on Thursday 21st June, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Covent Garden Area Trust.

For those of you who’ve never experienced this phenomenon before, it’s a fun-filled day celebrating the old peppercorn rents of a bygone era. We deliver five red apples and five posies of flowers to give thanks to the traditional buildings in the area.

We march through Covent Gardens to the jazzy tunes of our famous brass band and show our appreciation of the buildings en route. The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Ian Adams, most enjoyed last year’s event. You can see what jolly good fun we had, and the buildings we give thanks to each year, here.
